Boy in the wall

Teddy had been homeless for a while, sitting in his little box, hoping that someone may drop some yen for him out of pity. Though at this point it seemed hopeless, he was now a fourteen year old boy and far less cute than he was before. He only had one repeat visitor and that was a boy named Kuu. It was a strange name but he showed up everyday since he was ten. How had he survived four years on his own was amazing but how Kuu had been surviving his cruel parents was even more amazing. "Kuu-chan....Why have you been visiting me every day? Don't you have school or something...?"

Not that he was any better, he hadn't been to school in years and had only been able to learn things through discarded books. And that was all just to pass the time.

Teddy tensed up when Kuu said Teddy would protect him, his cheeks flushing again as he praised him. He'd try to protect him. But Kuu would end up seeing a side of him that he might not want to see. He pressed his head into his hand shyly, feeling bad that he was unable to clean his hair.

"Kuu-chan... If you stay the night with me... You're going to see things you won't like." He warned him, not wanting him to be shocked if he sees a man draw a knife on them or Teddy use his scissors to either hurt or intimidate others.

"It gets really ugly."

"Does it?" Kuu chuckled softly just like it was just a child's play. But he knew it wasn't. He really did; after everything he had been through, he knew what adults were capable of. "I don't mind."

Teddy sighed, so there was no chance of him changing his mind? Then he better start looking for another box. But where would he find a box at this time? "We better start looking for your box then." Otherwise they'd have to share his and Teddy's poor little virgin heart couldn't handle that. (His aggression and scissors made it impossible for pedophiles or predators to approach him.)

"You're going to get cold too..."

"Aww, can't I sleep with you?" Kuu frowned, disappointed that his friend didn't want to share his box with him. "I'm really quiet! And I don't snore."

"Y-You can...if you want....." He murmured, looking away from him as his cheeks flushed. What had gotten into Kuu? He never wanted to do all this before. But he could use the warmth too.

"We should still start gathering materials for my winter shelter..... But we can eat now if you want..."

[waills]

"I do. I...hate sleeping alone." He whispered, lowering his gaze. No matter how much he hated it, there was no one who would sleep with him.

"I'll help with that, too. But we should eat first! There's a nice restaurant nearby, they serve only Japanese food, but it's pretty cheap."

Teddy moved his hand to pet Kuu's hair, offering him a comforting but awkward smile. He wasn't used to comforting others.

"Okay...." Teddy looked around to make sure no one in the alley way was there before he hid his box and teddy bear under a clumsily stitched up tarp.

"Lead the way Kuu-chan."

Kuu took his hand in his own and pulled him along, not letting him go even once as he was scared that he'll get lost in the crowd. When they walked into the restaurant, they picked the seats in the back and sat there.

"Do you like miso soup, Teddy?"

Teddy felt the adults giving him strange looks for his ratty looks. Probably wondering what a street rat like him was doing with a boy who looked as clean and as pure as Kuu. It made him feel annoyed. It was all the shitty adults fault that Teddy was homeless and now they treated him like dirt.

But now wasn't the time to think about that. Not when Kuu was here. When they sat down, Teddy nodded his head, still not realizing that Kuu still had his hand in his.

Kuu noticed all the curious gazes and winces and realized how angry he was at all those people. He didn't want Teddy to feel bad and they certainly made him feel so.

When they picked what they're going to eat (miso soup, tonkatsu and anpan), Kuu placed an order, staring at all the people who were eyeing Teddy before. The cold shiver rolled down their spines and they started eating in a hurry.

"We have to wait a bit...tell me a story, Teddy!"

Teddy shot them all glares back, which caused most restaurant goers to quickly look away from them when they realized they were spotted.

He gazed back at him from across the table, tell him a story...? He didn't have many. "A..story...?" What was there to tell...?

[waills]

"Yeah, a story. About your life perhaps?" Kuu smiled, leaning his head on his hands. "You're really interesting, after all."

Kuu wanted to know everything about his friend, but he knew that Teddy wasn't the type who would open up to someone else easily.

"That story doesn't need to be told...." Teddy didn't want to tell Kuu about how his parents and siblings threw him away when they had a new son or how he lived in that alley for years. Kuu didn't need to know the violent acts he committed to keep his winter home every winter.

"I-I'm not interesting...."

[waills]

"You are. You're just shy," it sounded hilarious, given the fact that Teddy could take on people much bigger than him and beat them almost effortlessly. "I...I would like to take you to my place someday, you know..."

"I'm not shy!" Yet his cheeks said otherwise, who would have thought that this hardened homeless boy who had been told by other homeless boys and girls that he had a heart of black could become a flushed mess just by the words and actions of one boy?

"You would....?"

[waills]

"Yes. But I'm not sure you'd like it there..." Kuu averted his gaze and clenched his fingers into a fist. He wanted a home for him and Teddy, without the adults. "Would you like to go? No matter what...?"

How could two kids have a home? That was impossible. The selfish and cruel adults would never let it happen. "I doubt your parents would even let trash like me in." Teddy shrugged.

[waills]

"My parents..." Kuu murmured, pursing his lips. He couldn't tell what his parents would do, they were capable of doing anything. "I'll make them let you in."

Teddy shook his head softly no he had a taste of being loved by parents. He couldn't take that away from Kuu someone like Kuu deserved being loved and cared for. "No. It's alright. I don't want to cause your family trouble.."

[waills]

"You won't. You...could you come there with me tomorrow? I'd like to see you there." Kuu asked and gripped Teddy's hands, visibly nervous. He was sure that if Teddy won't help him, he'd die. And he didn't want to, yet.

"Alright...." Teddy didn't understand why Kuu was so adamant about him coming over but before he could ask, their food arrived. Teddy could only gaze down in awe at the food. How long has it been since he last got a full meal.

When their food arrived, Kuu smiled at his friend and couldn't help it but tease him a little when instead of eating, he just gawked at all the food.

"Should I feed you?" He whispered to Teddy's ear after he leaned in closer.

Teddy's cheeks turned bright red as a shiver rolled down his spine as Kuu's hot breath hit his ear, he nearly fell out of his seat as he gazed at him. He quickly pouted when he realized Kuu was teasing him.

"You're so cute..." Kuu added before pulling away; he wasn't teasing this time, he really meant it. "Let's eat, Teddy."

He wouldn't start without him, anyway. Kuu didn't eat much, letting Teddy eat.

Teddy blushed even more when Kuu called him cute, "I'm not the cute one. You are..." He murmured as he tugged on his hood shyly. When did Kuu get so flirty?

Teddy quickly started scarfing down his meal, causing more people to start gazing at him like he was trash but he was too busy eating to glare at them.
